The Cobblers

Book your stay

Prior to the take off of the industrial world, all shoes were made by hand by trained craftsmen. Shoemaking was a popular trade with shops dotted along many medieval streets. And for every shoemaker, you’d be equally likely to find a cobbler - repairing and patching up shoes. Whether the Ironmongers once lay host to a Cobblers shop can only be speculated. However, a Victorian shoe was discovered during renovation works, having been concealed under floorboards for hundreds of years. This piece of history is now displayed in this room.

The Cobblers Room offers cosy luxury, nestled in the rooftop of the Ironmongers. A luxury bathroom includes a magnificent 17th century arched window with views reaching out across the rooftops of Aylsham.

A review of The Cobblers

"Lovely place with lots of character. The Cobblers was a beautiful room and the whole place immaculately clean and presented. So much charm in a small place. No faults."
